Homegirl Rewinds: My Interview With Ty Dolla $ign

Hello, again, and welcome back to my trip down journalism lane. It's been quite a ride, but I am loving it. So by now you've read my throwback interviews with Goapele, Janine, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson, and Yorelis Apolinario. In 2016, I had the pleasure of attending, and interviewing, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer Ty Dolla $ign's pop-up shop in support of his album, Campaign. The pop-up shop featured exclusive "Campaign" merch, art installations, music, and more. Back then my "partner in journalism" was an incredibly talented and loyal colleague and friend named Stephanie Hodgson. We attended this event together with her nephew. With only a small camera and editorial experience, we interviewed Ty for True Magazine, an online and print magazine tailored to hip hop and rap music.
