I know summer be having us in a frenzy, but I done had enough of this heat! I’m ready for number one and first and foremost, cooler weather, cardigans, fall colors and flavors, and of course, concerts.
This summer is showing out, but it’s okay; we have so much to look forward to in the fall when it comes to seeing our faves in concert. I don’t know about you, but I did a little digging on who is about to be in our city, who they bringing with them (a.k.a who they’re bringing on tour with them), and when. Ticketmaster has been my friend for this past week. I did my research so you don’t have to. My question to you is…whose concert will you be pulling up to?
Chris Brown’s ‘Breezy Bowl XX’
Chris Brown is celebrating 20 years since his music debut, and what better way to celebrate than to go on tour?! We were first introduced to Breezy in 2005 with his hit single “Run It!” Shortly after, he captivated our little hearts with “Yo (Excuse Me Miss.” Once my 15 year old self saw how smooth he glided down the street trying to court, who I did not know at the time was Erica Mena, I was sold! And now, 20 years later, we are getting our Christmas present a little early and being honored with a concert that will take us all the way down memory lane. Nostalgia, girl? Here. I. Come. I forgot to mention that he is bringing Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, and Bryson Tiller along for the ride. Although his tour already started, he might still be near a city near you.

Brandy and Monica: The Boy is Mine Tour
Ask, and you shall receive. I have been waiting for this day ever since I first turned on my tv to UPN and the CW, and saw Moesha on my screen and ever since I saw Monica sitting on that sidewalk singing her heart out to “Before You Walk Out Of My Life.” The two who won the hearts of many are co-headling their ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.’ Expect to hear Brandy sing some of her most chart-topping hits including “Full Moon,” “Baby,” I Wanna Be Down,” “Sittin’ Up In My Room,” “Best Friend,” “When You Touch Me,” and so much more. Monica is about to have us singing about a heartbreak we got over years ago with “So Gone,” “Angel of Mine,” “U Shoulda Known Better,” “For You I Will,” and more. They are bringing some very special guests with them including Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and Jamal Roberts, y’all. It’s so serious.

Doechii: Live From The Swamp Tour
Our Swamp Princess is gearing up for her “Live From The Swamp” tour starting this October in Chicago. The first time I saw Doechii perform was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2024, and my mouth was open the entire time. The creativity. The Braids. The Outfits. The set design. The ability to dominate a stage. I was hooked. Then, a few months later, I saw her completely shut down the 2025 Grammy Awards. If you didn’t know her name before, you damn sure knew her name then. She took home the award for Best Rap Album for ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’ that night. She won my heart when she spoke to young Black girls and women letting them know they can do anything they put their mind to and not to let anyone project any stereotypes that they are “too dark,” “not smart enough,” “too dramatic” or “too loud.” “You are exactly who you need to be to be right where you are, and I am a testimony,” she said proudly.

Camp Flog Gnaw
For all my festival girlies and guys, your favorite time of the year is here. On November 15 & 16 at the Dodger Stadium Grounds, artists like Tems, T-Pain, Larry June, 2 Chainz, and more will take over the stage. Camp Flog Gnaw will have activations including Carnival Games. While you’re waiting for your fave to take the stage, you can play unlimited games to win prizes. Aside from the music and the energy, the outfits are always a topic of discussion. So you know what that means, right? I think it’s time to start looking for an outfit.
